How in the world is it July already?! I’ve heard many people display their shock/horror that 2014 is already half-past today; while I agree time is marching by rather swiftly, I can confidently say a lot has happened in Lauribeth Loves world to justify the passage of time.
While I have taken a somewhat unexpected hiatus from blogging, this time away has not paused my foodie fun and frolics adventures in the least. I plan on resurrecting and going back to my two-per-week posts shortly. But for now, let’s reflect on the first half of 2014. Below I’ve highlighted my favorite food experiences from the first six months of the year. Hope you enjoy and as always, please feel free to share your own highlights and commentary!
JANUARY
Happy 2014! The new year opened with a commitment to settling back stateside and continuing to keep my running up.
Favorite foodie experience: Levain Bakery

FEBRUARY
The shortest month of the year, February was dominated by my trip to my second home in Dublin. Seemingly every day during my 17-day stint I indulged on old haunts and discovered new gems!
Favorite foodie experience: FFID tour
Favorite Restaurant: The Drury Buildings
MARCH
March was a pretty quite going out month as I tried to focus on cooking from home. I visited my sister and brother-in-law in Boston for Paddy’s Day and definitely ate well then!
Favorite foodie experience: My awesome brother-in-law's homemade maple syrup!
Favorite Restaurant: Jame's Gate (Boston)
APRIL
My birthday month, this was an awesome month filled with friendly catch-ups and a grand visit by the beau. LOTS of food and wine were consumed and caution thrown to the caloric wind for sure!
Favorite foodie experience: Birthday brunch at Sotto 13
Favorite Restaurant: Fonda East Village
MAY
May seemed to absolutely zoom by with weekends booked up even before Monday had awakened! Friends’ birthdays and a few goodbye parties marked this spring.
Favorite foodie experience: Eataly Birreria rooftop

JUNE
June was a very transitional month with some major stressors impacting life. Thankfully all positive from here on out as we close out the first half of 2014! More to come…
Favorite foodie experience: City of Night at Silo City an awesome event in the old Silo section of Buffalo. Art, music, food trucks, beer and a wonderful sense of rejuvenation took over this usually –desolate area of the Queen City. Specatuclar!
Favorite Restaurant: Cascabel Tacuqeria
